Welcome - Gilberto (Gil) Cisneros, Chairman and CEO, Chamber of the Americas Mr. Cisneros is committed to economic empowerment and justice and is the driving force of the Chamber of the Americas (COTA) in its mission to build and cultivate strong relationships among member and nonmember individuals and organizations. COTA seeks to facilitate trade and investments that strengthen local economies and foster a spirit of harmony, social and economic justice, and cohesiveness globally, with particular emphasis in the Western Hemisphere. Guest Speakers Candice Bataille has over twenty-five years of experience with international development and trade. Having worked for both the nonprofit and profit sectors, she has led efforts for matching funds from multilateral organizations into micro enterprises and educational initiatives across North America, Europe, Latin America and Africa. Her international work includes supporting and assisting small businesses with market research, strategy and cultural design, and tariff classification. Candice has worked in over 47 countries and has been privileged to create programs and projects alongside world leaders and presidents of countries such as Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Lech Valesa, Federico Zaragoza, Alberto Fujimori, and Belisario Betancourt. She continues working as a consultant on international trade and development for corporations, government and multilateral agencies. In addition, Candice is the founder of the nonprofit Glowmundo, which seeks to build resilience in inner city youth. Felicia Naranjo Martinez, Executive Director of the Colorado European Union Center of Excellence (CEUCE), is responsible for the vision and strategy of the organization. She aligns CEUCE with EU initiatives stemming from the EU Mission to the U.S in Washington D.C. and the EU Commission in Brussels. From the University of Colorado Boulder, and in collaboration with partner organizations, she is tasked with achieving organizational goals of disseminating knowledge on the European Union, its initiatives, and current events. Ms. Naranjo Martinez develops strategic partnerships that grow the organization through EU affiliates and ensures the construction, communication and execution of programmatic events. She co-owns the program with the CEUCE Academic Director and takes primary responsibility for liaising with the business, policymaker, civic, NGO organizations and educators across the Boulder campus and at Mountain West Partner Universities. Idaksue "Sue" Montoya was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University Simon Rodriguez, and then worked in banking, ultimately as a Regional Branch Manager for Bancor. Sue moved from Caracas to Denver, Colorado, in 1994. She spent 16 years at Sprint, where she supervised the Fraud Department, primarily overseeing identity theft investigations. The past three years have been spent in contract positions at Kaiser-Permanente protecting the company against insurance fraud, and at Western Union ensuring compliance with anti-Money Laundering requirements. Sue is President and member of the Board of Directors of SOS Venezuela Denver, which provides economic assistance to charitable groups providing food for hungry children in Venezuela. Moderator  - Dr. David Conde, President of North America, COTA Dr. Conde is a senior consultant to COTA bringing over 32 years of experience in developing and conducting international programs in Europe, Mexico, Central and South America in the public and private sectors. In addition, he currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of East Migrant Head Start Project with 40 education centers for migrant children in 14 states along the east coast and the south. MC & Moderator  - Tony Bottagaro, COO, COTA Tony is special advisor to COTA on national and international affairs. He is also a seasoned executive, acclaimed speaker, bestselling author, award-winning film producer and narrator, playwright and stage performer as "Mario the Peddler." For over 35 years, he has taken his message of "a world more human and more divine" across diverse ideologies, including the United Nations and an audience with Pope John Paul II at the Vatican.
